Sage Tidbit #11: What Matters to You & How Can You Contribute?

A tidbit is a small morsel…. of inspiration, insights, or lessons learned/tips to reflect on, and digest, over your week.

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness…” An often-quoted passage from A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, that can describe the world today.

Which city do you want to live in? It’s about conscious leadership and deciding who you are and how you want to find meaning and contribute regardless of the circumstances you find yourself in. How can you find within yourself and engender in others, a greater sense of agency when so much seems in crisis?

Here I am in my workout clothes sharing some thoughts on navigating in today’s environment. Considering all the strife, division and uncertainty that exists in the world today, it’s now more important than ever to do three things:

  • Find places of support and connection, and identify ways you can support and connect with others

  • Identify what REALLY matters to you, articulating what gives you a sense of meaning and purpose

  • Find ways to contribute that energize you and contribute to making the world a better place.

Not only will you feel better about yourself and the world, even if for only a moment, but you will embody how to lead consciously in challenging times.

Reflection Questions:

  • What really matters to you?

  • Where/how can you foster greater connection and understanding amongst people in your orbit?

  • How can you contribute in ways that are motivating and inspiring for you?
