That's what drives me nuts about the leadership and personal development industry, someone can say something like "managing authenticity" and some people will say, ooh, what's that? I may be a little cynical but it just sounds so stupid. Come on, most of us spend a life time unpacking loads and loads of social, psychological and physical baggage that we relish the freedom of experiencing our authentic selves. The thought of managing that experience couldn't be further from what it means to be human. So I have a new one for you, try "managing sincerity" The worse that can happen is that you'll hate yourself for a few hours and mislead or disappoint your friends. And for the most part, people get that real quick! Sounds to me like a clever leadership marketing gimmick.
